Office-using job losses continue to weigh on the economy and commercial real estate performance

According to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data, total nonfarm employment in Omaha fell by 2,800 jobs, or 0.5%, year over year in 2025. That pullback marks a clear inflection from the 3,200 jobs gained in 2024, marking the second-worst year of job growth since 2009, above only 2020.
