CBRE, the global real estate adviser, has strengthened its Scotland industrial and logistics team with the appointment of Bryce Stewart, who joins as a senior director in its Edinburgh office.

Stewart brings more than 30 years’ experience operating in Scotland and has held senior roles at Colliers International as head of the Scottish industrial team, and was more recently partner at Montagu Evans.

CBRE said Stewart’s expertise "spans all subsectors" in the industrial and logistics sector, "bringing a wealth of experience to the role along with strong client relationships". The group also described him as having a "proven track record as a leading adviser on high-profile, complex development sites and large-scale industrial properties".

Stewart was behind the sale of the Fife Hyundai factory, where he advised Shepherd Offshore to manage the sale of the land to Fife Council, in partnership with Fife College, the Scottish Government, and Scottish Futures Trust for a £220 million "super-campus" learning facility.

CBRE's industrial and logistics team in Scotland is led by Craig Semple, who said in a statement: "With a proven track record, Bryce will play a key role in driving growth and delivering exceptional service to our clients as we scale up our I&L agency team in regional markets.

"Bryce is extremely well connected, and those relationships will create wider opportunities for CBRE and, more importantly, our clients. Our commitment to growth in this sector ensures that we are primed to respond to changing market dynamics and can provide unrivalled solutions across Scotland."

Stewart becomes the second major recruit in as many months after Ashleigh Corbett joined as head of flex in the agency team, having previously worked at Flexspace, IWG and more recently Orega.
