The Grand Rapids metropolitan area ended 2025 with total nonfarm payroll growth of 0.5%, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics data. Employment continued to expand, but at a much slower pace than the 1.8% average annual growth recorded during the 2015–2019 expansion.
