Newmark has made Michael Facenna a partner in its national offices agency team.
Facenna, who joins from Avison Young after more than eight years, will work in the consultancy's Glasgow office and has more than 20 years of experience in the office sector.
During his career he has focused on the Glasgow and West of Scotland markets, specialising in advising public and private-sector landlords and occupiers on the development, disposal and acquisition of city-centre and out-of-town offices.
His track record includes major instructions across Glasgow Grade A developments, such as the 95,000-square-foot Cadworks, and longstanding advisory roles for leading investors, developers and occupiers, like Clearbell and ESR Europe.
Charles Toogood, head of national office agency, said in a statement: "Glasgow continues to be one of the UK’s most dynamic regional office markets, underpinned by sustained occupier demand and continued investor confidence.
"Michael’s appointment further strengthens our capabilities in the city and reflects our commitment to supporting clients across Scotland with deep market insight and exceptional local expertise."
Facenna added: "I’m delighted to be joining Newmark at such a pivotal time in the office sector. The firm’s global network combined with extensive local expertise means we are well placed to capitalise on new opportunities and deliver best-in-class results for our clients."
Earlier this month Newmark hired Whitney Bowrin as a partner in its London offices team, who has more than a decade of experience in lease consultancy.
