New York City-based Sumitomo Corp. of Americas (SCOA), the largest subsidiary of leading goods and services trader Sumitomo Corp. out of Japan, made a splash with its first commercial office building investment in Atlanta, acquiring the Atlanta Financial Center for $222.5 million, or approximately $245 per square foot, in the firm's largest acquisition by size to date.
