CBRE brokers Val Achtemeier, Darla Longo and Barbara Perrier have etched their names in history as the only all-female team recipients of the Spirit of Life Award, presented by City of Hope's Los Angeles Real Estate & Construction Council.
The City of Hope is one of the largest cancer research and treatment organizations in the country and a key research center for diabetes and other life-threatening illnesses. Its Spirit of Life Award is given annually to individuals with outstanding professional and humanitarian accomplishments.
As winners of the Spirit of Life Award, they will be honored at a celebratory event scheduled for Sept. 14 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood. “Their efforts here are proving successful, with over $1.4 million raised so far, much of it from clients and friends of the honorees,” CBRE said in a statement.
Perrier, Achtemeier and Longo are part of CBRE's capital markets group. Each has attained the position of vice chair, the company’s top title for brokers, and has been named to CBRE’s Colbert Coldwell Circle, which makes up the top 3% of producers, the company said.
Achtemeier is a long-standing supporter of City of Hope and has been an executive board member of City of Hope's LARE Council for over two decades. As vice chair of CBRE's capital markets debt and structured finance group, she has $55 billion in financing deals in her 35-year career. Longo's 44-year tenure in commercial real estate includes $72.8 billion of investment property sales, and she has executed leases involving an aggregate total of more than 229 million square feet.
With over 30 years of experience, Perrier is an investment broker specializing in industrial and land sales. In 2019, she received CBRE's William H. McCarthy Award, which acknowledges high-producing professionals for their impact on culture and commitment to excellence and leadership by example.
