Some 40 JLL employees got out of the office last week to help prepare food packages for people in need around Tampa Bay in Florida.

The workers donated some time to join nonprofit group Feeding Tampa Bay at a warehouse, where they packed 12,480 pounds of food — or enough to make approximately 10,400 meals.

"It’s a cause near and dear to our hearts," Tabitha Bonds, JLL market operations employee, said in a LinkedIn post. She added that, because the state of Florida has more than 3 million residents who are food insecure, "We are committed to doing our part to support our neighbors, community and each other."

Brittani Nelson, a JLL brokerage analyst who packed boxes with retail intern Leah Thompson, said the time volunteering was well spent. Nelson said she's glad her company lets her give back to the community, in a LinkedIn post of her own.
