Montreal office tenants join trend of leasing smaller spaces

90% of the city’s signed office leases this year are for less than 10,000 square feet, compared to 79% in 2020

Montreal office lease deals continue to skew towards smaller blocks of space. In 2020, more than 80% of all office leases were for spaces greater than 10,000 square feet. By 2025, only 10% of all office leases signed were for blocks of space in this size range. The vast majority of office lease deals in Montreal are for less than 5,000 square feet.
