ECB interest rate decision: 'Moderate stimulus for the industry, no reason for euphoria'

The central bank's president said the cut cycle is near its end

At its meeting on Thursday, the European Central Bank lowered its deposit rate by a further 25 basis points to 2%. This is the eighth rate cut since summer 2024. Experts see this as the possible final action in this phase of monetary easing, while others consider a further reduction to 1.75% possible.
