Not all hotel pools are created equal. From gorgeous views to interesting design elements, some pools stand out with their various cool factors, and temperature has nothing to do with it.

Below is a list of interesting pools at hotels from all around the world. Click through the slideshow to check out each of the pools and scroll down to read about what sets them each apart.

Destination: Obbürgen, Switzerland

Cool factor: Float on a mountaintop

Set more than 1,640 feet above Lake Lucerne, the historic Bürgenstock Resort spans nearly 150 acres and has a history of hospitality dating back to 1873. With a combined total of 678 rooms and 67 residence suites, the property has two spas and incredible views of the lake and surrounding Swiss Alps. The Bürgenstock Alpine Spa has five pools for guests to relax in, including a wrap-around infinity whirlpool hovering over the lake.

Destination: Olang, Italy
Cool factor: Elevated spa (literally) with amenities

Located in the Italian Dolomites, the small luxury Hotel Hubertus prioritizes wellness for all guests, even providing in-unit jacuzzi and sauna access in some of its 64 rooms. The Skypool is a 82-foot-long infinity pool that is suspended nearly 40 feet high with a glass-bottom section at the farthest point out. In addition to this architecturally impressive pool, guests have access to five other pools and three whirlpools for peak relaxation.

Destination: Waikoloa Village, Hawaii
Cool factor: Waterpark-level experience

Located on Hawaii's Big Island, the Hilton Waikoloa Village is set on 62 acres of Kohola coastline. Home to five pools — including a saltwater lagoon — the resort provides a waterpark-like experience, with waterslides and various activities. The 653-room Hilton Waikoloa Village also offers non-hotel guests a day pass, which ranges in price depending on the day and season, that allows access to each of the pools and attractions.

Destination: Lake Como, Italy
Cool factor: Floating pool

Why choose between floating in a lake and floating in a pool when you can do both at the exact same time? The 80-key Grand Hotel Tremezzo features three distinct pools for its luxury clientele — which included Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce last year. While the property's garden and spa pools offer greenery views and serenity, respectively, the unique floating pool deck is described on the hotel's website as being "downright sexy."

Destination: Al Roose, Al Jabal Al Akhdar, Oman
Cool factor: One of the highest-elevation pools

At more than 6,500 feet above sea level, the 85-room Alila Jabal Akhdar hotel, a Hyatt-branded property, has unbeatable views among the Al Hajar Mountains. Two of the hotel's units have access to private pools just outside of the rooms.

Destination: Houston, Texas
Cool factor: Texas-shaped lazy river

While not technically a pool, the Texas-shaped lazy river at the 1,000-key Marriott Marquis Houston is a show-stopper. Open year-round, the Altitude Rooftop & Pool has both the lazy river and a chilled infinity pool that provide incredible views of downtown Houston. Throughout the year, the space hosts seasonal events, including summer concerts and the Texas Winter Lights experience, which transforms the space into a pool-side winter wonderland.

Destination: Koh Samui, Thailand
Cool factor: Red-tiled pool

Visually, The Library Samui's Red Pool might be a little unnerving to hotel guests at first, but they can rest assured that the pool's red hue is actually a result of the orange, yellow and red mosaic tiles that line the bottom of the pool, which sits along Thailand's Chaweng Beach. The hotel, which has a large library and a bookish theme throughout, also has a handful of other unique pools within some of the 46 suites, studios and pool villas.

Isla Brown Corinthia Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton

Destination: Agioi Theodoroi, Greece
Cool factor: Serene rooftop

Designed with inspiration from ancient Greek mythology, the 166-room Isla Brown Corinthia Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton has a nearly 6,000-square-foot rooftop that features a bar and pool that overlook the Saronic Gulf. The hotel also has another pool and private beach access for guests to enjoy.

Destination: New York City
Cool factor: City escape

Tourists and New Yorkers alike can escape the hustle and bustle of city life with Park Hyatt New York's 25th floor indoor saltwater pool. Next door to the pool, which is available to all hotel guests, is a state-of-the-art fitness center and Spa Nalai, which features a jacuzzi, steam room and more available to spa guests.

Destination: Bali, Indonesia
Cool factor: Swim in the jungle

The villa pools at the 44-room Hanging Gardens of Bali put guests in the middle of the jungle with trees and wildlife surrounding them on each side. The Panoramic Pool Villa's crystal blue waters appear to drop off into the Ayung River Valley below.
