Kidder Mathews Makes More Moves in Southern California
Kidder Mathews has promoted one commercial real estate veteran and hired two more as the West Coast brokerage continues a rapid expansion in Southern California that has seen the firm recruit 15 brokers across its greater Los Angeles offices this year alone.
Executive Vice President John Anthony has been promoted to managing director of the firm’s downtown Los Angeles office.
Anthony has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate. He specializes in selling and leasing office properties in greater Los Angeles and works with a team that has completed more than 1,250 transactions valued in excess of $2 billion.
Darin Beebower has joined Kidder Mathews’ Century City office in Los Angeles as executive vice president.
Over Beebower’s nearly 30-year career, he has completed more than $2.5 billion in multifamily sales transactions totaling over 8,000 units, in addition to handling investment sales of office, industrial and retail properties.
Kidder Mathews recruited Mark Butcher as senior vice president and market leader for its asset services division, based in the San Diego office.
In his new role, Butcher will oversee the greater Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego markets, responsible for developing and directing property teams and handling quality control as well as client development and support.
Butcher brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate management. Before joining the firm, he was the market leader for Alexandria Real Estate Equities' San Diego asset service division, where he handled roughly 10 million square feet of life science and technology properties. Before that, he was a managing director with CBRE in San Diego, overseeing nearly 100 professionals and more than 13 million square feet of commercial real estate.
MacKenzie Ventures Elects Gill to President, COO

The board of MacKenzie Ventures, the parent company of the Lutherville, Maryland-based firm’s eight operating divisions serving all real estate asset classes, elected Brendan O. Gill as president and chief operating officer, effective immediately.
Gill joined MacKenzie Commercial Real Estate Services as a sales and leasing associate in 2006, before moving to a development role with the firm and then to its property management and maintenance arm, eventually serving as president of MacKenzie Management Co., a title he will retain in his new role. Before that, he worked as a leasing representative at Cushman & Wakefield after graduating from the University of Virginia.
During his time at MacKenzie, Gill expanded the property management division's assignments to 10 million square feet across 130 properties and helped establish its investment and development group. He currently chairs its information technology committee. From 2016 to 2018, Gill also served as president of NAIOP Maryland, a statewide association serving the interests of the commercial real estate industry.
"Real estate was dinner table conversation in our household and I was extremely lucky to have many mentors, the most influential of course being my father, who provided me with important industry knowledge and fundamentals," Gill said in a statement announcing his promotion. "More importantly, he always drove home the importance of developing relationships and establishing professional credibility and integrity. I was taught that the best outcome in real estate is where both parties walk away happy."
Clark F. MacKenzie, who founded the company in 1968, transitions to founder and chairman emeritus. Gary T. Gill, who joined the company in 1977 and was named president in 1986, will now serve as chairman and CEO. MacKenzie offers brokerage, asset management, debt and equity placement, and construction management services, and has more than 200 real estate professionals in five offices. In addition to MacKenzie and Gill, MacKenzie Ventures' board includes J. Scott Wimbrow, Brendan Gill, Martin Copsey and Michael Bradley.
Campagna Joins Core5 as Construction Manager

Core5 Industrial Partners has hired Lauren Campagna as a construction manager.
In her new role, Campagna will oversee project management and entitlement coordination throughout Indiana for the real estate property company that is focused on development and acquisition of Class A industrial properties.
Campagna brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate industry experience, most recently at JLL, where she managed third-party construction for tenant improvement and capital projects on behalf of owners. At JLL, she also worked as market lead for Indianapolis and oversaw market growth from 2.3 million to 18.9 million square feet. Before that, Campagna worked at Sandor Development, managing a 1.7 million-square-foot portfolio leased to over 250 tenants while developing annual operations and capital budgets, financial reporting, forecasting and annual reconciliations.
CBRE Names Forcello as Market Leader

Will Forcello has been promoted to market leader for CBRE's central New Jersey operations in East Brunswick.
In his expanded role, Forcello will oversee the company's growth strategy across all business lines.
Forcello previously served as sales management leader for CBRE's New Jersey business, where he handled broker development and client services programs over the past several years. Forcello joined CBRE 13 years ago in industrial and office leasing advisory before transitioning into a research group leadership role.
Pine Tree Promotes Xu to VP, Portfolio Management

Pine Tree has promoted Shelley Xu to vice president of portfolio management, supporting the Northbrook, Illinois-based commercial real estate company's growing portfolio of open-air shopping centers across the country.
In her new role, Xu will handle strategic oversight of one of Pine Tree's retail real estate funds and is based in the firm's office in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Xu joined Pine Tree in June 2020 as a senior portfolio manager and is currently pursuing her MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
BBX Logistics Appoints Martinez to VP, Acquisitions

BBX Logistics Properties, a division of BBX Capital Real Estate focused on infill speculative and build-to-suit industrial real estate in key Eastern U.S. logistics markets, appointed Pablo Martinez as its vice president of acquisitions.
In his new role, Martinez will source new development opportunities and handle deal underwriting in addition to project leasing, capital partnerships, financial modeling and transaction and brokerage interaction.
Martinez brings almost 10 years of finance and acquisitions experience, most recently serving as a financial consultant with PwC, and before that as an investment associate for ESJ Capital Partners. He has held various finance and investment positions with Florida East Coast Industries, the city of Coconut Creek and the city of Hollywood in Florida.
Mannion Joins Ware Malcomb as Studio Manager, Architecture

International design firm Ware Malcomb has hired Christina Mannion as architecture studio manager in its San Diego/Sorrento Valley office.
In her new role, Mannion will lead the growth and management of the firm's San Diego architecture and science and technology studios and will manage select projects in the region.
Mannion, a registered architect in the state of California, has more than 25 years of project experience handling project leadership, facilities planning, research and manufacturing, design solutions and capital projects for the science and technology, workplace, civic infrastructure, mixed-use, housing, higher education and master planning sectors. Most recently, Mannion worked as a principal architect with the University of California, San Diego.
