Landmark Properties employees recently took a break from helping the student housing developer expand across the country to host hundreds of children at a holiday gathering in the company's hometown of Athens, Georgia.

The party, attended by nearly 300 youth from the Boys & Girls Club of Athens and held at the Classic Center, included holiday crafts, treats and presents for each child in attendance. Of course, Santa Claus made a special appearance.

"Landmark recognizes our responsibility to give back in the communities where we live and work,” Chief Operating Officer James Whitley said in a statement. “Through our national partnership with The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we thought this party was a great way to celebrate our local Club kids and to spread some holiday cheer around the greater Athens area.”

Employees of Landmark wrapped gifts for the kids and decorated the venue to create a festive atmosphere. This offered a respite from a busy 2022 when Landmark grew its portfolio to more than $10 billion in assets under management, including over 100 residential properties across the country with more than 60,000 beds.

“There were so many smiles on these kid’s faces, and I know that their season will be much more enjoyable as a result of the gifts, food, fun and festivities that they were part of," Boys & Girls Club of Athens President and CEO Robert Finch said in a statement.
