JLL picked an industry veteran who has worked with multiple luxury brands and household names to help its retail clients with their real estate strategies.

The brokerage has appointed Nicki Hines as executive managing director of retail corporate services. Hines will be based in JLL's Chicago headquarters.

JLL's retail group works with property occupiers on location analytics and modeling, debt restructuring, transaction management, restructuring and other aspects of their businesses. As retailers reassessed their business plans because of the disruption caused by the pandemic, several brokerages have fortified their teams providing consultative services.

Hines joined JLL from The Hines Group, a retail real estate company she founded. She has more than 30 years of experience as a real estate consultant to retailers. Before starting The Hines Group in 2021, she worked for 22 years at GCD Consultants.

As a partner at GCD, she represented several global brands including Coach, Tiffany & Co., Microsoft, Nike and Tory Burch.

Hines' experience in brand portfolio management will benefit JLL's retail clients, said Walter Wahlfeldt, executive vice president of retail corporate services.

Well known in the retail industry, Hines has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California and a mentor for the Tory Burch Foundation, which provides access to capital, education and other resources for women and female entrepreneurs.

Hines said she looks forward to helping JLL clients optimize their locations.

“Working with top global brands to manage their dynamic real estate needs is incredibly rewarding," she said in a statement.
