Cushman & Wakefield has been shuffling key leadership in the Lone Star State, and it just hired a Boyd Commercial executive to be its executive managing director in Houston.
David Munson took over the position last week.
In his new role, Munson will work with the capital markets and leasing operations, Cushman & Wakefield said. The former Boyd Commercial executive has nearly two decades of industrial brokerage experience in Houston and Texas.
Munson's hiring comes days after Cushman & Wakefield said it named Chris Hipps to oversee the firm’s Texas operations from its Dallas-Fort Worth office.
Cushman & Wakefield said Munson will continue to specialize in landlord and tenant leasing while also focusing on investment sales in Houston. He said he looks forward to helping clients navigate the current choppy economic climate.
“Houston’s industrial market continues to be robust, but macroeconomic trends are creating some uncertainty," Munson said in a statement.
While at Boyd Commercial, Munson closed transactions with an aggregate value of more than $300 million.
The new Cushman & Wakefield executive started his career as a leasing director at industrial real estate investment trust First Industrial. His book of work included more than 5 million square feet of negotiated leases.
Originally from Houston, Munson earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University. He also has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
