The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, a group of top office and industrial real estate agents founded in 1941, elected Saadia Sheikh as its 2025-2026 global president. She and the other elected officers will be installed at SIOR's fall conference in Louisville, Kentucky, in early November.
Sheikh, the founder of New York-based commercial real estate state advisory firm Powersense, currently serves as president-elect of the group and has been a SIOR office specialist since 2017.
SIOR, based in Washington, D.C., said current vice president Aaron Barnard will succeed Sheikh as president-elect. Barnard is an office specialist at Cushman & Wakefield in Minneapolis and will serve as president-elect for one year, SIOR added. After that, he would take over as president in fall 2026, the group said.
TMG Real Estate Advisors founder and Principal Dan Smolensky was elected as SIOR's vice president. After serving a one-year term as vice president, Smolensky would be elevated to serve as president-elect for one year, and then become SIOR president in the fall of 2027, SIOR concluded.
SIOR stated that St. Louis office specialist Scott Savacool will continue to serve as SIOR global treasurer. A senior vice president at Colliers, he has been an SIOR member since 2011.
