JLL alum returns to lead nonprofit practice; Avison Young boosts Denver sales group; Newmark grows infrastructure team

Allison Buck returned to JLL as the firm's managing director for its nonprofit, education and government practice in the New York area. Buck previously spent three years at JLL in transactional advisory and tenant representation roles before leaving for Savills. Joining her as a senior associate is fellow Savills alum Ella Berckmans, who will support business development and client servicing initiatives within the division, the company said.

Avison Young boosted its Denver investment sales team with the addition of Leslie Brown as a senior vice president and Mason Bodie as a senior associate. Brown joins after founding Colorado Craft Brokers, while Bodie joins from Walker & Dunlop.

Newmark appointed Philip O'Bannon as the senior managing director of its infrastructure capital markets business, betting on the sector's expected growth. Joining from Citigroup, O'Bannon will expand the firm's advisory and capital-raising capabilities across all infrastructure types, with a focus on data centers, power and utilities, energy transition and other large-scale projects, Newmark said.

Houston-based national multifamily development, construction and property management group AOG Living appointed Kristin Burton as its head of capital markets. In her new role, she will lead the company's overall capital markets strategy, overseeing investor relationships, capital raising, and debt and equity placements across AOG's portfolio.

Walker & Dunlop expanded its Low-Income Housing Tax Credit equity team with the addition of Jack Hodgkins and Stacie Nekus. Hodgkins will serve as a senior vice president and head of the LIHTC group. He's based in Denver, while Nekus joined as senior managing director and head of business development for LIHTC Investor Relations out of Pittsburgh, Walker & Dunlop said. Hodgkins has more than 25 years of experience in affordable housing and investment management, and Nekus has over 30 years of real estate experience, including more than 20 years in raising and placing equity capital.

Cushman & Wakefield appointed Christopher Maling as its executive director of capital markets and investment sales, as the commercial real estate services company expands its retail sales reach. Based in Los Angeles, Maling joined Cushman & Wakefield from Avison Young, where he served as the group's principal of retail capital markets. With over four decades of experience, he previously served in senior roles at Colliers and Marcus & Millichap, with the Maling team closing over $3 billion in retail deals over the past few years.

John Goodner was promoted to region president for Hoar Construction's Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Carolinas markets. Goodner has been with the Birmingham, Alabama-based general contractor for 20 years and will oversee strategy and growth, new business development, client relations and internal talent development for the firm, Hoar said.
