Newmark appointed Mike Whitaker as group chief information officer. In his new role, Whitaker will provide strategic oversight of technology, data and information initiatives across Newmark’s businesses and align enterprise technology strategy with the company’s long-term growth objectives and priorities, the real estate services firm said.
Whitaker, who joined Newmark from Citi, will report to Chief Operating Officer Luis Alvarado and work alongside Kyle Lutnick, Newmark’s chief strategy officer. Newmark Chief Information Officer Sridhar Potineni and the technology leadership team will report to Whitaker. Whitaker, who also serves as group chief information officer at Newmark's controlling shareholder, global financial services firm Cantor Fitzgerald, has held senior technology leadership positions at Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital.
Newmark also hired Sarah Miller as national valuation and advisory co-lead of its senior housing practice. She brings over two decades of experience in senior care and medical facilities and will work with Norm LeZotte to provide valuation and advisory expertise for senior housing and healthcare assets across the United States, Newmark said.
Zabada Abouelhana joined Colliers as an associate managing director in the commercial real estate services firm’s Phoenix office. As a member of the valuation and advisory services practice, Abouelhana will lead its hospitality practice group in Arizona and the Mountain States. Her responsibilities include advancing hospitality valuation and advisory initiatives, business development, and recruitment and retention efforts, as well as overseeing hotel-residential assignments. She joined Colliers after spending the past seven years at hospitality consulting firm HVS, where she most recently served as senior director of the group’s Phoenix and Salt Lake City offices.
TruAmerica Multifamily added Joe Deliberto as managing director of fund management in Dallas and Danny DeMarco as a director of acquisitions in New York. Deliberto will provide a coordinated view of performance, portfolio construction and business plan execution, the firm said. He brings over 15 years of experience to his new role.
DeMarco will lead acquisitions and acquisition strategy across the Northeast and open TruAmerica’s New York City office as the firm plots its expansion across the region, TruAmerica said. He joined the firm from LivCor, a Blackstone company.
Los Angeles-based commercial real estate services firm Pegasus hired four professionals, including Sophia Kessler, formerly of CBRE, and Ariadna Mencias, who joined from CBI, as senior leasing associates. Kessler brings over a decade of experience spanning retail leasing, business development, landlord and tenant representation, and strategic account management. Mencias' experience centers on landlord and tenant representation across retail, office and industrial properties.
Makayla Hoehn and Sayaka Matsumoto joined Kessler and Mencias at Pegasus as leasing associates. Hoehn previously advised clients on commercial leasing transactions. In her new role, she will support leasing and business development activities across Pegasus’ managed portfolio. Matsumoto brings over a decade of commercial real estate expertise, having previously been recognized as one of Collier’s top-performing brokers in Hong Kong.
Law firm Gibson Dunn added Noah Hansford as partner and Terrie Khoshbin as senior counsel in Dallas. The two joined the firm's real estate practice group and the data center and digital infrastructure practice group. Hansford represents owners, operators and developers in data center and digital infrastructure transactions, Gibson Dunn said. Khoshbin represents landlords and property owners across the data center industry in leasing and other contractual matters.
Silver Spring, Maryland-based Enterprise Community Development named Ray Smith as senior vice president of real estate development. There, Smith will lead the company’s affordable housing development efforts across the Washington, D.C., area and Maryland, Enterprise Community Development said. He brings over 30 years of multifamily development experience and has helped lead or finance over $1.8 billion in multifamily and mixed-income projects. He joined the firm after having held senior leadership positions at Legacy Partners, Madison Capital Group, Bainbridge Cos., Middleburg Real Estate Partners and Wood Partners.
