Happy holidays, everyone. Let's do something a little different.
Over the last few years, I've asked hoteliers in early December to share with me their wish lists, what they hoped Santa Claus would put under their lobby Christmas trees. I heard back about hopes for a steady economic climate, innovative tools and systems for staffing, robust environmental programs and advancements in revenue management technology, among other wishes.
This year, I want to hear something different but still hospitality focused.
Hoteliers out there, please send to me how you or your team made someone's wish come true. Ideally, it's a holiday-related story, but it doesn't have to be. Maybe you helped restore someone's faith in humanity. Maybe you just turned a guest's bad day into a good one.
Whatever it was, write a brief description of it and send it to me here. Put "Wish Come True" in the subject line. As always, please no anonymous stories. If I can collect enough, I'll put them in an upcoming blog before we turn the calendar over to 2026.
It's the time of year folks can get a little more sentimental, and I'm not an exception. It's been a weird year to say the least, so let's have some good stories to share and remind each other the value of kindness.
