In less than 18 months, River Plaza at 9 West Broad St. in Stamford has gone from 3% leased to 96% leased. International Telecommunications Data Systems, Inc. (ITDS) leased a total of 80,452 square feet on the 3rd, 4th, 8th and 9th floors. Formerly the Nine West Group corporate headquarters, the 201,000-square-foot, Class-A office building was acquired by Apollo Real Estate Investment Fund III LP in joint effort with Louis Dreyfus Property Group and Broad and Hanrahan LP during summer 1998. The new owners began a multi-million dollar capital improvement program. David Friedman, northeast regional vice president of Louis Dreyfus Property Group, remarks, "River Plaza is a testament to the fundamental strength of the Stamford office market. It also reaffirms the fact that well-designed and professionally managed office buildings in convenient locations will continue to prosper in downtown Stamford." The corporate tenant roster consists of: International Telecommunications Data Systems; Qwest Communications; The American Institute for Foreign Study; Career Blazers; and Member Works. Ned Burns, Tom Pajolek and Al Mirin of CB Richard Ellis's Stamford office represented the new tenant, ITDS. Friedman exclusively represented the building owners in all lease negotiations.
