Cleveland increases population for second consecutive year, led by Lorain and Medina counties

Despite recent gains, total number of residents is still below 2020 levels

According to the latest data release from the Census Bureau, Cleveland’s population increased by 5,600 residents in 2024, an increase of 0.3%, and the second consecutive year of population gains in the market. However, while positive for commercial real estate demand, the recent population gains have not been enough to offset the population declines from 2020 to 2022. Cleveland’s population is still 0.6% lower than in 2020.
