Edvaldo Brito

Brito has been named as the general manager of the 196-room Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort, which opened in 1908 and is owned by London & Regional. He arrives from hotel Como Castello del Nero in Tuscany, where he also was the general manager.

Stefan Fuchs

Fuchs has been named general manager of the new, 560-room Giza Palace Hotel & Spa in Cairo, which opened in May and is owned by Travco Group International Holding. His previous position was general manager at the 351-room InterContinental Mina al Arab Ras al Khaimah Resort & Spa, United Arab Emirates.

Paul Blackmore

Blackmore has been promoted at hotel firm Hilton to be its vice president of development, United Kingdom and Ireland, his role starting in July. He moves up from a role of vice president of architecture, design and construction in Europe, Turkey and North Africa.

Michelle McArdle, Kym Kapadia and Edward Holland

McArdle, Kapadia and Holland have been appointed director of commercial; senior vice president of commercial; and director of operations and quality, respectively, at Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA. McArdle joins Aimbridge following more than 15 years at Marriott International, most recently as director of market strategy with responsibility for revenue management at nine hotels in the United Kingdom. Kapadia joins from a decade working at hotel-management firm and consultancy Michels & Taylor. Holland arrives from the 158-room Holiday Inn Coventry M6, Junction 2, where he was senior general manager.

Finardi has joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts as vice president of operations, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Caribbean Atlantic. He joins the firm from Mandarin Oriental where he was general manager of the 135-room Mandarin Oriental Paris and area vice president, operations, France, Italy and Czech Republic.

Italian luxury hotel owner has made a rare deal outside of its native country and bought the 135-room Mandarin Oriental, Paris, for €205 million, or more than €1.5 million per key.

Alessia Meli

Meli has been promoted to chief operating officer at Italian hotel and real-estate management firm Gruppo Ginobbi, which operates Rome’s 78-room Palazzo Ripetta. Her career up to this point has been in food and beverage and restaurant management, including at the Palazzo Ripetta but also at the 370-room Rome Cavalieri, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

Dayle Nicoll

Nicoll has been appointed general manager at the 46-room Balmoral Arms in Ballater, Scotland, approximately 10 miles from Balmoral Castle, the summer home of the Royal Family. Nicoll previously was operations manager at the 94-room Carnoustie Golf Hotel & Spa, also in Scotland.

Charley Le Peillet

Le Peillet has been named as director of development, France and Belgium, at EasyHotel. His previous role was as director of development at real estate firm Cogedim, part of Altarea, with oversight of projects combining housing, offices, urban logistics and retail in Paris’ Île-de-France region.
