San Diego's employment dips in delayed jobs report

Office-using sectors shed more positions

The long-awaited jobs report for September was released for San Diego. The report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the San Diego region’s unemployment rate dipped to 4.9% during September, down from 5% in August. The September reading was 40 basis points above the year-ago level, although it was better than the statewide rate for California, which was 5.6% in September. Further job reports for employment data are expected to be delayed.
