JLL hire to expand Texas healthcare business
JLL tapped Lee McKenna to serve as managing director in its San Antonio office, as the brokerage expands its healthcare-focused property services in Central and South Texas. The company said McKenna will handle project leasing, development, investment sales and tenant representation across the San Antonio and Austin regions.
McKenna has more than 12 years of healthcare industry experience and joined JLL after nearly seven years at Stream Realty Partners. He started his career in the U.S. Air Force as a healthcare administrator in the Medical Service Corps. He is joined at JLL by senior associate Allie Sledge, who worked previously with McKenna at Stream Realty Partners.
RMR Group pursues institutional investor clientele
Alternative asset management firm The RMR Group appointed Mary Smendzuik as a senior vice president and head of capital formation. The Newton, Massachusetts-based company said Smendzuik has more than 18 years of industry experience and will lead its private capital raising while seeking to grow its business with institutional investors.
She served most recently as a senior vice president in the business development group of Torchlight Investors, focused on institutional investor fundraising, and held an earlier senior role at New York Life Real Estate Investors. RMR Group has more than 35 offices and $40 billion in assets under management, focusing on commercial and residential real estate and related business categories.
Ryan targets growth in multifamily arena
Development services firm Ryan Cos. appointed Bryan Lamb as executive vice president and multifamily sector leader, based in its Chicago office. The Minneapolis-based company said Lamb will lead its nationwide efforts to expand its project business in the multifamily category, including development and financing services.
He joined Ryan Cos. after prior work at EQT Exeter, where he served as co-head and chief investment officer for the firm’s U.S. multifamily operations. He held earlier roles at Clark Realty Capital and Liberty Property Trust.
Construction firm Clayco taps new leaders

Construction services provider Clayco made several leadership promotions, with Ryan McGuire named president of construction. The Chicago-based company said McGuire will lead all aspects of construction, including sales, preconstruction and other daily operations. He will also continue to lead Clayco Compute, the company’s data center and quantum computing business unit.
Clayco also picked Southwest region President Ryan Abbott to take on new leadership duties for construction divisions, including advanced manufacturing, life science, food and beverage, e-commerce, aviation and residential. Conor Tighe was promoted to vice president of preconstruction and procurement strategy. These followed the earlier promotion of Mike Pierle to chief operating officer of Clayco’s construction business.
Mohr Partners hires Dallas, Minneapolis executives

Mohr Partners named Jennifer Syx as managing director of business and economic incentives, based in its Dallas office. The corporate real estate advisory firm said Syx will focus on expanding its economic development and incentives practice across North America. She spent more than two decades as an economic development officer for U.S. municipalities before transitioning to the private sector, where she has represented companies in negotiating tax and other financial incentives.
Mohr Partners also hired Darrin Dufresne as managing partner to lead its new Minneapolis office. Dufresne was previously president of Blue Lake Commercial Estate, a tenant and buyer representation firm based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. He worked earlier as a commercial leasing director for Sherman Associates and CSM Corp., and as a vice president with CBRE.
