GM Buys Detroit Renaissance Center for $626M

Group Sells 2.26 Million-SF, Phase I Office Towers to Tenant

General Motors Corp acquired its headquarter building at the Renaissance Center, which consists of office towers 100, 200, 300 and 400 in Detroit, from Riverfront Holdings Inc. for $626 million, or about $277.50 per square foot. The four office buildings total 2.26 million square feet. The buildings are known as Phase I and make up the Renaissance Center, which is along the Detroit River. GM bought the property due to the current real estate market conditions.
