Holliday Fenoglio Fowler ("HFF") has gained one of the country's top retail investment sales teams. Seven professionals that are part of the East Coast Retail Team, formerly of Staubach and Trammell Crow Company, are joining HFF. Whitney Knoll, who was a senior managing director and leader of the team while at Staubach and principal and leader of the team while at Trammell Crow Company, will assume the role of senior managing director at HFF. Working out of the company's Atlanta office, Knoll will lead the team's efforts in brokering retail sale transactions for HFF's east coast offices of Atlanta, Boston, Hartford and Westport, Connecticut, Miami, New Jersey, New York City and Washington, D.C. An industry veteran, Knoll has been involved in more than $3.3 billion in retail property transactions, primarily in the role of representing institutional clients in the sale of east coast shopping centers. Previously serving at CB Commercial and Ben Carter Associates, Knoll built up a shopping center sales brokerage team at Trammell Crow Company, and took most of that team with him to Staubach just after CB Richard Ellis closed on its buyout of Trammell Crow in December 2006. A 20-plus year industry veteran, Lynn DeMarco assumes the title of managing director and will work on the East Coast Retail Team out of HFF's New York City office. Prior to joining Knoll's team at Trammell Crow in 2004, DeMarco served at the Investment Properties Division of Insignia/ESG and post merger, CB Richard Ellis. She has also held positions with Bear Stearns’ and Smith Barney’s Commercial Mortgage Groups, Wexford Management LLC and Chase Manhattan Bank. Brad Peterson will join HFF as managing director. A member of Knoll's team since 2001 at Trammell Crow Company's Atlanta office, Peterson has been involved in more than $1 billion in transactions. When the team signed on at Staubach, Peterson moved to Orlando and served as a senior Broker. At HFF, Peterson will work closely with the company's existing retail team in the Miami office and will focus on retail investment transactions in the Southeast. Prior to Trammell Crow, Peterson held positions at West Deutsche Landesbank Girozentrale and Price Waterhouse LLP. Richard Reid, James Hamilton and Kevin Hurley are joining HFF Atlanta, under Knoll's direction, with the titles of director, director, and senior real estate analyst, respectively. Prior to joining Knoll's team two years ago, Reid worked at CS First Boston. Hamilton has been a part of the retail team for six years at Trammell Crow and Staubach and Hurley served with the team briefly at Trammell Crow, and then at Staubach. Justin Grieder joins HFF will work with Peterson as a senior real estate analyst; he previously served on the team as senior financial analyst at Staubach and Trammell Crow. He has authored several research reports for Florida ICSC.
