The Seattle City Council vote count has slanted in favor of left-leaning candidates, who are now poised to hold five of the seven seats up for grabs over rivals who had appeared friendly to locally based retailer Amazon. That increases the likelihood in the coming term of a rent control proposal or even the revival of a push to tax major businesses on a per-employee basis, known as a head tax.
