Last week, the U.S. Census Bureau released its 2019 population estimates data for U.S. metropolitan statistical areas and counties. The East Bay remained the only major Bay Area market to register net population gains in 2019, with both San Jose and San Francisco showing net declines in total population. But East Bay population gains have pared significantly compared to just a few years ago.
