NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Since Andrea Foster has been on the job at Marcus Hotels & Resorts, she’s been working hard to get the company name out in the industry, reposition properties and work toward growing the company. “I’m very excited that I’m nine months into my role with Marcus Hotels & Resorts, so we’re really excited to be marketing ourselves to the industry for, really, the first time as a third-party management company,” Foster said. “We’ve actually been a third-party management company for quite a while. We’ve been around for 54 years, but the industry isn’t really very familiar with us, so we have a great story to tell. I have been out there in the industry telling that story, I’m sharing a lot of our successes.”

She said Marcus has “done a lot of different projects when it comes to reinventing,” and an example of this is The Garland hotel in Los Angeles, which lost its brand affiliation and was repositioned as a boutique lifestyle hotel. The company also opened one of the first AC by Marriott hotels, and is currently working on its acquisitions strategy.

Watch the video below for more information from Foster on Marcus’ project highlights and the company’s growth strategies going forward.
