Stew Leonard's, a regional grocery chain that credits Walt Disney World as an inspiration, was doing "experiential retail" at its supermarkets long before the term was a catchphrase in commercial real estate circles. Now, in a town dubbed as the U.S. retail capital, the family-owned company has expanded to incorporate its trademark feature of singing animatronic figures, statues of cows and a one-way aisle that funnels shoppers past a fragrant in-store bakery.
