The big news announced yesterday on the $66 billion deal between BB&T and SunTrust to create the nation’s sixth-largest bank was welcomed in Charlotte where the combined bank plans to locate its headquarters, adding a new Fortune 500 banking firm in a market that already boasts the headquarters of Bank of America and a major Wells Fargo operation.
