Carolin Paarmann
Paarman has been named as the general manager at A&O Hotels’ property A&O London Docklands Riverside, which has 500 rooms and 1,200 beds. It opened in November, a conversion of the former DoubleTree by Hilton, Docklands Riverside.
Felix Müller
Müller has been appointed as director of hotel project management at Luxembourg-based real estate investment firm IREMIS Sarl. He arrives from peer investment company 12.18.
Ziad Sleiman
Sleiman has been named general manager at The Meydan Hotel in Dubai, having been the property’s hotel manager since August 2024. Adjacent to the hotel is the Meydan Racecourse, which can accommodate more than 60,000 people for horse racing. He has worked at the Bab al Shams Desert Resort, also in the United Arab Emirates, and in various roles at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.
Sharon Grob
Grob has been appointed at architecture and design studio Yodezeen, which specializes in luxury resorts and branded residences and has offices in Dubai, Kyiv, London, Milan and Warsaw, among others, as its new chief growth officer. Grob’s career has seen her work at such design studios as Studio Moren and Richard International, but she started out in banking.
Philippe Kronberg
Kronberg has been named as general manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London, and associate vice president of operations for that hotel and four other of the brand’s hotels — Mandarin Oriental Mayfair; Mandarin Oriental Paris; Mandarin Oriental Lutetia Paris; and Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium Amsterdam. He comes from the role of resort general manager at the 262-room Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa Al Waha in Oman.
Mark Wheeler and Niall Anderson
Wheeler and Anderson have been promoted to the roles of president and chief operating officer, respectively, at luxury lodge and campsite firm &Beyond. Wheeler previously was chief operating officer, while Anderson had the role of chief operating officer, Africa lodges.
Sonia Sammut
Sammut has been promoted to the position of general manager at Minor Hotels’ 68-room Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort. She has had two former roles at the resort, as resort manager and, before that, residence manager. Before all of those roles, she was at the 276-room Dukes The Palm Dubai.
Joel Zgraggen
Zgraggen has joined Mandarin Oriental Hotels & Resorts in its London office as senior manager, portfolio management. For the last four years, he has been acquisition and investment manager and then senior acquisition and investment manager at aparthotels firm The July.
Ashwini Singh
Singh has been named as general manager at 41-room, 150-acre The Langley, Luxury Collection Hotel, Buckinghamshire, a few miles northwest of London Heathrow Airport. He arrives from the same role at the 227-room Marriott Leicester.
Damien Bastiat
Bastiat has been hired as general manager of the 17-room Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Collection, a 13th-century château (it was built as a stronghold of the family and knights of Chasteignier de la Roche-Posay) within 400 acres of French countryside department of Charente, approximately 100 miles northeast of Bordeaux. For the previous three years he was managing director at Almae Collection, and he has had positions in England and St. Barts.
Boris Simm
Simm has been appointed to Berlin-based hotel owner Primestar Group as managing director, with responsibility for operations, people and culture. He also has been given the mandate to expand the group’s hotel brand, June. Primestar has approximately 4,300 rooms in Austria and Germany. Simm’s last nine years of employment have been at German hotel brand Ruby Hotels, where his roles, in order of starting, were group manager, operations and openings; group director of operations; and group vice president of operations.
Camille Lopeo
Lopeo is the new chief marketing officer for Accor brands Emblems Collection, MGallery Hotel Collection and Sofitel. Lopeo started at Accor in 2017 as global director, Pullman Hotels & Resorts, and she also has worked directly with the firm’s brand Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
