Archstone-Smith Buys NYC Apts. for $266M

Investment Firm Adds Two Multifamilies, 450 Units to 3,700-Unit New York City Metropolitan Area Portfolio

Archstone-Smith, a national real estate investment firm, acquired 462 units in two New York City multifamily properties for $266 million. In separate transactions, the firm purchased The Marlborough House at 245 East 40th St. for $165 million, or approximately $611,000 per unit, and 180 Montague St. in Brooklyn for $101 million, or approximately $540,000 per unit. Glenwood Management and Scott Lager of 180 Montague Owner LLC were the respective sellers.
