The Building Safety Act's impact on mixed-use development

In response to the Grenfell tragedy the Building Safety Act 2022 introduced sweeping reforms to improve the safety of people living in multi-occupancy buildings. Obligations to remediate historic building safety risks, a new gateway regime to control construction and refurbishment and a stringent duty-holder regime for the management of higher risk buildings are now mandated priorities for anyone involved in the development, ownership or management of residential property.
