A private family trust purchased the 2,000-square-foot retail building located at 1620 E. Main St. in Barstow, CA for $2.83 million, or approximately $1,415 per square foot -- the highest price per square foot for a single-tenant investment in Inland Empire. The building was completed in June 2005 and Starbucks is the first tenant. The extraordinary high price reflected the highly desirable location, across the street from one of the top 10 grossing McDonalds just off the heavily traveled I-15 route between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, and the long-term (10-year) lease signed by coffee purveyor Starbucks with no termination provision.
