The government’s interim response on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards introduces a more targeted approach to improving the energy performance of commercial property. From 2031, privately rented commercial buildings over 1,000 square metres will be expected to achieve an EPC rating of B, while smaller commercial properties will remain subject to the current EPC E standard.
