Flowers Foods Buys 1633 Fisher Court in Catawba County

Flowers Foods purchased 1633 Fisher Court, a 115,200-square-foot industrial property located in Newton, NC for $5 million. The buyer plans to renovate this food production facility for a bakery to open in mid-2006. A second production line will be added later. Headquartered in Thomasville, GA, Flowers Foods is a producer and marketer of packaged bakery foods for retail and foodservice customers. Cenex Harvest States, which sold the property, built the facility in 2003 to manufacture corn and flour tortillas, and frozen Mexican entrees. This new permit ready, food production facility was never occupied.
