Once a manufacturing facility occupied by Valco Reproduction & Mailing Services Inc., 30-35 Crospey Ave. in Brooklyn has now officially become a Tops Appliance City retail megastore. Tops Appliance, a leading retailer of home appliances and consumer electronics, purchased the 40,000-square-foot industrial building and then spent $6 million to transform the building into its 10th megastore. Improvements made at the facility included but were not limited to the building's electrical systems, HVAC, and surronding landscape. The company also purchased an adjacent city-owned land parcel and converted it into a parking lot. Headquartered in Edison, NJ, Tops is active in New York and New Jersey, serving a customer base within the greater New York metropolitan area. By: Walt Brown (6/18/1999)
