Following its recent headquarters relocation to South Florida, real estate private equity group Gaia Real Estate is adding two Miami-based directors to help fuel its expansion across the Southeast.

Pascual Korchmar has been appointed as the group’s managing director of acquisitions and development, while Samantha Fields was named the firm’s director of investor relations.

Korchmar brings 25 years of experience to the role and will lead acquisitions and development strategy focusing on high-demand residential markets and emerging rental neighborhoods. He previously founded and led South Florida-based Korchmar Development Corp. and was responsible for the development of a number of multifamily rental projects in Miami Beach, Aventura and North Miami, according to the company's website.

“As our presence expands throughout South Florida and across the Sun Belt, Pascual brings a disciplined approach to acquisitions and development that strongly aligns with our investment strategy and long-term vision,” said Danny Fishman, CEO of Gaia Real Estate, in a statement from the firm.

Fields will lead the firm’s capital raising and investor relations efforts, bringing her experience from working at investment firms, including Carlyle Group, Riverside Co. and Peakhill Capital. In her previous roles, she worked on limited partner engagement and capital formation efforts that drew from private equity, private credit, venture capital and structured financing, the firm said in its statement.

Founded in 2009, Gaia Real Estate relocated to Miami from New York in December to focus on its expansion throughout the Sun Belt, Fishman said at the time. While the firm maintains a New York office at 152 West 57th St., the group’s headquarters is located at 8163 NE Second Ave. in Miami’s Little River neighborhood, five miles north of downtown.

Gaia Real Estate has been expanding its presence throughout the southeastern United States. Last year, the company announced the first phase of what's expected to be a $300 million partnership with Moderno Development focused on the acquisition and development of high-quality single-family homes throughout Miami. The real estate private equity firm's portfolio includes over $4 billion in assets, with more than 20,000 residential units acquired throughout its history.
