Ford Sells Stake in Hyatt Regency

Ford Motor Land Development Corp. Downshifts to Minority Ownership

Dearborn-based Ford Motor Land Development Corp. sold an 85 percent ownership stake in the Hyatt Regency Dearborn to Orlando-based CNL Hospitality Properties Inc. Ford Motor Land Development will continue to operate the hotel jointly with CNL. Hyatt Corp. will continue to manage the property. The hotel offers easy access to downtown Detroit and the Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The 710,000-square-foot Hyatt features 52,000 square feet of meeting space, 772 guest rooms and a revolving rotunda restaurant. The hotel underwent an extensive $22.6 million renovation, completed in January of 2000.
