Orange County Job Growth Picks Up in August, Led by Government and Education Workers

County Still Needs To Add Approximately 90,000 Jobs for Full Recovery

Employment growth accelerated in Southern California's Orange County in August after a slowdown in July, according to preliminary figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, July is typically a slow month for job gains, and the region added 12,100 jobs on a seasonally adjusted basis that month. The Labor report shows the market added 7,200 jobs in August on a non-seasonally adjusted basis.
