FedEx Ground, a unit of FedEx Corp., purchased a 96-acre site in Boone County for an undisclosed amount. The company plans to build a new $50 million, 335,000-square-foot distribution facility. The site was chosen for its proximity to customers' distribution centers and major highways, as well as the strong local employee base. State and county tax incentives also made the site particularly attractive.
