City vs West End Boxing: Spotlight on CBRE’s Andrew ‘The Belfast Boy’ Gibson

With little over a week to go until the long-awaited City vs West End agents ‘Pride of London’ white collar boxing night, we talk to West End elder statesman, Andrew ‘The Belfast Boy’ Gibson, whose experience mentoring the younger boxers could go a long way to helping the West End contingent settle an old score with their City counterparts.

With just nine days to go until the main event, Gibson, as with the other fighters, is approaching the critical part of his training. While around half of the fighters who began training three months ago have been whittled away due to injury, Gibson – the most senior boxer to step foot in the ring next week – is still going strong. Thirty boxers began training in August. Just 14 remain. Injuries have included back strains, a broken thumb, broken noses and, somewhat ironically, a stress fracture inflicted on an unrelated charity walking event.
