Yesterday, the Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee cut the UK Base Rate by 25 basis points to 4.25%, matching the consensus forecast. This followed inflation declining in the latest figures from 2.8% in February to 2.6% in March, plus growing concerns over the outlook for the global economy in the face of the new US tariffs.
