Quadrangle LLC acquired 1300 East Touhy Ave. in Des Plaines, IL. The property, located at the corner of Touhy Avenue and Lee Street, contains 17 acres and is improved by a 208,098-square-foot multi-use building, previously occupied by Metpath and Sandoz Agra. The building is equipped with 50,000 square feet of high-tech lab space, a full cafeteria with kitchen, a fitness center, racquetball court, and a theatre-style auditorium. Private investors and principals of Quadrangle provided equity for this transaction. First Midwest Bank of Illinois provided debt. The purchase of 1300 East Touhy marks the third acquisition for Quadrangle in less than two years and the largest to date. Cushman & Wakefield's Susan Rosen and Marilyn Lissner represented the seller, Novartis. Cushman & Wakefield will remain the prime leasing company for the building.
