GE Buys One America Plaza for $166M

Shimizu America Sells 581,136 SF Office Building

One Amer Plaza PT LLC, acting as an affiliate for General Electric Pension Trust, purchased One America Plaza of downtown San Diego. The 581,136-square-foot office building is located at 600 West Broadway. One America Plaza is a 34-story office tower characterized by a curtain wall of granite and glass, a sculpted roof, and a marble-clad 4-story atrium entry with a 40-foot high waterfall. The total consideration for the transaction was estimated at about $166.2 million, approximately $286 per square foot. Ben Schwartz of SENTRE Partners consulted on behalf of the buyer. Jay Borzi and Steve Silk of Secured Capital Corp. in Los Angeles, along with the help of Nelson Ackerly and Kraig Kristofferson of CB Richard Ellis' Downtown San Diego office, represented the seller, Shimizu America Corp.
