Meat Packing Company Sells 223,700 SF Property

Bo Packing, a meat packing company, sold its 223,700-square-foot industrial facility in the historic Chicago Stockyards District to a joint venture between Fresh Start Produce and Jalpa for $1 million, $4.47 per square foot. Fresh Start Produce is a wholesaler of fresh produce. Jalpa is a Mexican/ethnic-food importer and distributor. The facility, located at 1250 West 42nd St. in Chicago, is comprised of two buildings. One is an eight-story building with 216,000 square feet. The other is a single-story building with 7,700 square feet. The property boasts a 7,700-amp/240 volt power service, nine exterior loading docks, and freezing/cooling storage units. The building user sale closed the first week of September. Phil Rosenberg and Gerry Olson of Epic/Savage Realty Partners represented both parties in the transaction.
