Wells Real Estate Funds, an Atlanta-based REIT, named Peter Mitchell as investment officer. Mitchell will perform closing and due diligence activities on the firm's property acquisitions. Prior to joining Wells, Mitchell was a vice president at J.P. Morgan Mortgage Capital. In this role he was responsible for underwriting and closing commercial mortgages.
