Despite Turnaround, New Construction and Weaker Leasing Could Push Vacancy Higher

In 2023, office and flex space for life sciences in Seattle saw a turnaround. For buildings in this category, absorption, the change in the number of occupied square feet, was negative in each of the three prior years. In contrast, absorption for life science buildings with biotech and lab space was positive.
