A Northern California-based private investor purchased the Bridgepointe retail center located on Mariner's Island Boulevard and Highway 92 in San Mateo, CA. Although the sale price was undisclosed, the 270,000-square-foot power center was listed for $61 million, or more than $225 per square foot. At the time of sale, the property was fully leased and included tenants such as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Sportsmart, Marshalls, Staples, Old Navy, Pier 1 Imports and Ethan Allen Furniture. The six-year-old Bridgepointe center encompasses the 35-acre site formerly known as Fashion Mall. The buyer represented itself, in-house. Richard Walter of Faris Lee Investments in Irvine represented the seller, a Newport-Beach based investment company. Walter of Faris Lee indicated, "Thirty-five acres in the Peninsula area is a rare find".
