Comcast Cablevision Purchases University Blvd. Building

Comcast Cablevision, a broadband communications provider, purchased 11101 University Blvd. in Manassas, VA. The sales price was undisclosed. Comcast is the third largest U.S. cable provider and a Fortune 500 corporation. The 104,678-square-foot office building is a call center with a network operations center. It features a large training/break room, a cafeteria, and fiber to the building from Verizon with a Sonet Ring, which gives two fiber runs from the building to the local central office. There is also UPS back up for critical power loads and equipment, Dual Detroit Diesel 1250 KW Generators with two 8,000-gallon fuel tanks, PBX with 10,000-line capacity available, and supplemental FM fire suppression system in the main data room. Sharon Barrett and Scott Churchley of Liberty-Greenfield LLP represented the seller, Dieca Communications. Richard Blue Jr. of Blue & Obrecht Realty LLC represented Comcast in the transaction.
